Rare view of St Paul’s Cathedral

The building known as 1 New Change has been demolished, exposing a view of St Paul’s Cathedral that hasn’t been seen since 1958. The replacement building will be started very soon so this is a fleeting view that you won’t see again in your lifetime:

From my Flickr set here. The details of the death of the old 1 New Change are from the excellent www.ludgatecircus.com, an idiosyncratic guide to EC4.

This view has now been obscured by the new One New Change development :-(

Thx for the reminder to go and grab a picture. When the South Face was exposed some years ago and the North Face after that I didnt grab any pictures and they were spectacular sites now hidden for, as far as we are concerned, forever. Maybe should pop down with a step ladder!

Thanks for that update! I’ve worked in the area for the last 7 years (bar the last 6 months) and absolutely hated that building, will have to head down there and check out that view while I still can!
